An IndiGo flight carrying passengers from Ranchi-Pune made an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport after one of the passengers on board suffered a medical emergency, an airport official said on Friday. Around 10pm on Thursday, he claimed Flight 6E 672 was diverted to Nagpur Airport, adding that the passenger was taken to a hospital where his death was later confirmed.
To clarify the situation, the Indian airline issued a statement informing that the passenger received medical treatment but did not survive. “The passenger was unconscious on the flight and was taken to hospital for medical treatment but unfortunately did not survive,” the airline spokesman said in a statement.

Recently there have been several cases of passengers dying during the flight. Earlier, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Doha made an emergency landing in Karachi, Pakistan, due to a medical emergency. The sick passenger then received medical attention at the airport, where he was pronounced dead. The flight was then parked at Jinnah International Airport for around 5 hours and then allowed to take off for the return journey to Delhi.
The passenger fell ill on board and the captain requested an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, according to officials from that city’s Civil Aviation Authority.
Earlier, a Madurai-Delhi IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore after the health of a 60-year-old passenger on board deteriorated during the trip. After landing, the passenger was taken to hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead by medical staff. The passenger was known to be suffering from a heart condition that led to his death.
