The Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project, which is expected to be delayed by four years from its original December 2023 deadline, has completed 26% of the work, the railway minister said.
The ministry shared the update on Twitter, saying that as of February 28, 2023, there was a total of 26.33 percent physical progress. It mentioned that Maharashtra had completed 13.72 percent of the total work. Gujarat, on the other hand, had completed more than 52 percent of the construction work and has a current overall completion rate of 36.93 percent.
According to the Ministry of Railways, 257.06 km of piling work has been completed and up to 155.48 km of pier work. It also stated that 37.64 km of girders had been launched to support the structure.
So far, over 8,000 trees have been transplanted and 83,600 seedlings planted for the project.

5. Another high speed train project between Varanasi and Delhi is currently under consideration with a feasibility study underway to design routes with as few curves as possible.
The planned 985-kilometer Varanasi-Delhi bullet train corridor will include at least 13 stations including Delhi, Noida, Jewar Airport, Agra, Mathura, New Etawah, South Kannauj, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli, Prayagraj, New Bhadohi and Varanasi. .
