The company has the largest CNG portfolio in the Indian market and sells over 12 CNG models in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Grand Vitara CNG, starting at Rs 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom). At launch, Brezza will be Maruti Suzuki’s second CNG SUV in India.
As already mentioned, Brezza CNG was presented at the Auto Expo. The car on display was wrapped in matte blue. The SUV was also recently spied at a dealer’s stock yard, suggesting its launch is imminent. The Brezza CNG is offered in four variants – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi plus. It is also expected that Maruti could offer Brezza CNG with an automatic transmission.
The Brezza CNG looks identical to the petrol one, there will be no changes to the exterior and interior design. The Brezza CNG gets LED headlights with DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen system, cruise control, an engine start-stop button, ESP, hill start assist and a rear view camera with sensors.
Speaking of the powertrain, the Brezza CNG is powered by the same 1.5-litre NA petrol engine that produces 100hp and 136Nm of torque. In CNG mode, however, the performance values drop to 87 hp and 122 Nm of torque. Transmission options only include a 5-speed manual and could claim a fuel efficiency of around 30km/kg.

In terms of pricing, the Brezza petrol variant has been priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG variants are expected to command a premium of around 70,000 to 80,000 over their petrol counterparts. When the Brezza comes out, it will continue to compete with Hyundai Venue. Tata NexonKia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 300.
