Indian Railways has decided to run special summer trains between Bhagalpur in Bihar and Mumbai to handle the rush during the summer holidays.
Indian Railways has consistently taken several measures for passenger convenience to meet the increased demand for train tickets in different seasons. Railway authorities have now announced a new summer special train between the city of Malda in West Bengal and Mumbai during the summer holidays. This is a great convenience for the passengers from Bhagalpur, Bihar who wish to take a direct train to Mumbai.
The new train will be operated by Eastern Railway from April 10 to May 29.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CSMT) – Malda Town Special train departs from CSMT station every Monday between April 10th and May 29th at 11:05 (total 8 trips).
Malda Town – The CSMT Special departs Malda Town at 12:20pm every Wednesday between April 12th and May 31st (8 trips). The summer special train stops at New Farakka, Barharwa, Sahibganj, Kahalgaon, Bhagalpur, Sultanganj, Jamalpur, Abhaypur and Kiul stations in both directions.
The special train will also have the first AC, second AC and third AC carriages, as well as the sleeper and general class carriages. According to Malda Division PRO Rupa Mandal, summer special trains will be operated, taking into account the additional rush of summer passengers who travel to their hometowns to send their children to school during the summer holidays.
Also the Holi season has just ended and people are traveling back to their places of work in large numbers. To cope with the increased passenger load for the return journey, Indian Railways has also recently introduced many special Holi trains. Those wishing to travel between Bihar and Mumbai can also book tickets on these trains.
Railway authorities have recently launched Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal, Mumbai – Jaynagar Weekly Holi Special which will operate from March 11th to March 25th.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal, Mumbai – Jaynagar Weekly Holi Special (05562) departs Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal, Mumbai since March 14 at 13:30 on Monday and will make its last trip on March 28 and Jaynagar at 8:00 reach on Wednesday. On the way back, Jaynagar – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai Weekly Holi Special (05561) departs Jaynagar at 23:50 on Saturdays and arrives at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 12:20 on Mondays at the Mumbai terminal.
