According to religious beliefs, when Sai Baba came to Shirdi, he lived near a ruined mosque called Dwarkamai. You may know that Shirdi Dham Sai Baba has samadhi temple where his body was buried after his death. There is a marble statue of Sai Baba in a great hall of the Samadhi Temple, for which devotees come from all corners of the world. Sai Baba’s clothes and other items are also kept here.
It is a belief that all desires of devotees will be fulfilled at Sai Baba Dham. When Sai Baba first came to Shirdi, he is said to have suddenly left the place after three months. Then, after three years, he returned to Shirdi, and a priest of the Khandoba temple first called him the name Sai.
