The 2024 Tata Nexon would undergo radical cosmetic updates in terms of exterior appearance and cabin trim along with a new petrol engine
Tata Motors is working on a major overhaul of the hugely popular Nexon compact SUV. Test mules of the upcoming new generation SUV have already been spotted wearing camouflage on Indian roads. The latest spy version of the SUV has revealed more details on the exterior’s extensive cosmetic updates. There will also be significant interior upgrades, while a new petrol engine is also expected with the 2024 Tata Nexon.

The 2024 Nexon facelift is expected to make its commercial debut around the middle of next year. It would compete with other sub 4 meter SUVs in the Indian market such as Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Nissan Magnite. The price of Tata Nexon 2024 is likely to be higher compared to the current model which retails between Rs 7.80 and Rs 14.30 lakh.
The latest spy footage of the test mule shows a glimpse of the new grille design, which features a two-piece design with diamond-shaped inserts at the bottom. The design cues of the new SUV appear to have been inherited from the Curvv ICE concept.
First, the front bumper is expected to feature more chiseled creases and cuts. The headlight cluster is expected to be integrated into the bumper. A full-width LED light bar can be seen on the higher, flatter nose. The Tata logo is in a large recess that lies below the light bar.
The spy images suggest that the front and rear profiles will undergo a thorough restyling. While the exterior appears to have changed massively, the interiors would also get an upgrade with a redesigned dashboard. The centerpiece of the new SUV is expected to be a 10.25-inch touchscreen. This could be one of the most significant trim upgrades for the Nexon, coupled with a new digital instrument cluster. The new infotainment system in the facelift version would be the one introduced by Tata Motors on the Harrier and Safari. A majority of these upgrades will also be available with Nexon EV.
The next-generation 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine unveiled with the Tata Curvv ICE could be the biggest mechanical update the Nexon will carry in 2024. Reportedly, this new 123hp, 225Nm engine will replace the Nexon’s existing 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 118hp and 170Nm. The 1.5-liter 108 hp diesel engine is expected to remain unchanged. It is unknown whether or not the manual and AMT transmission options would be retained from the 2024 Tata Nexon facelift.
